Why would we choose a name that is so...well, wretched? |
Perhaps the most famous hymn in Christendom is John Newton's "Amazing Grace."
Virtually everyone knows the lyrics to this amazing praise song.
"Amazing grace, how sweet the sound, that saved a wretch like me."
That is why we chose the name "Wretched."
Until a man or woman recognizes that they are indeed wretched, they cannot appreciate the cross.
By calling the show "Wretched", it is a constant reminder that we all need a Savior.
It also ensures that the program stays focused on what is most important, the Gospel.
We also like to think the title will actually help people witness to others.
"Have you ever listened to "Wretched Radio?"
"Why do they call it "Wretched Radio?"
"Well, the Bible says that we all sin and fall short of the glory of God..."
Be assured, we did not choose this title to be silly, crass or outlandish.
We chose it because it is a word that is Biblical (Paul called himself a wretched man, Rom.7:24 ), and it keeps the main thing the main thing. |

What's the Deal?
Why are we no longer Way of the Master Radio? |
Let's start here. We love Way of the Master. We love Ray. We love Kirk. We love EZ and everyone else at Way of the Master (Living Waters). For three years they graciously supported the program. We would not be doing this show had it not been for them. However, they recently decided to discontinue doing the radio show. FamilyNet very graciously stepped in and took it over.
In the future, you will still hear Ray and Kirk. Wretched Radio is pretty much the same as it was when it was Way of the Master Radio. In fact, Todd, Kirk and Ray will still be doing events together. We are all still pals. We are just two different ministries who are still laboring together. We hope that this serves as a model for other ministries and ministers who part company. It doesn't have to be ugly.
How do I support the show?
The best (and only) way to support the program is by becoming a Wretched Club Member. We tried to make it a great value, but the real reason for becoming a Club Member is to support Wretched.
I used to support Way of the Master Radio through Living Waters...what should I do?
We hope you will continue supporting Living Waters because they are a GREAT ministry. But if it is your desire to only support Wretched Radio and TV, then the only way to do that now is by becoming a Wretched Club Member. Your gift to Living Waters does not support us...but we hope you will continue to support Living Waters because they are a wonderful ministry.

When do I stop witnessing to someone? |
Only when they tell you to stop…and they mean it. Otherwise, use common sense and never give up. |

But the person I am witnessing to is as hard as a rock, what should I do? |
You don’t know that. Don’t be overbearing, but stay faithful. You have no idea what is going on inside. |

I am horrified to witness to my family, how can I make it easier? |
Witnessing to your family is indeed horrifying. It is so wise to call your loved one up and invite them to lunch…your treat. Tell them you have something important to talk to them about. They will ask, “What?” Don’t tell them. Say, “It is nothing bad, but it is something so important, I want to tell you face to face.” They will have ants in their pants til you meet. They will actually beg you to tell them at lunch. |

They sure do. Use that to your advantage. Agree with them. Apologize to them if necessary. And then tell them why you are different today. |

I can’t witness to anyone, I am too afraid. |
We know. So are we. So was Paul. Just get started where you can. Start by saying hi to everyone you see…that’s all. That will get you used to talking to people. Get some Gospel tracts and start leaving them in public places when nobody is looking. Then summon up the courage to hand them to somebody. Maybe you could put a tract into your phone bill when you return it. Just get started and ask God to grow your courage. |
